View Video TributeMrs. Mary Hicks Locke Hamm, 84, resident of Raymond St. in Nashville, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 following a brief illness. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Hicks and Myrtle Owens Alderson and attended Central High School. Mrs. Hamm was retired from Royal Globe Insurance where she had worked for forty years. She was an avid gardener who loved growing roses and mums. Anyone who had the good fortune to share a meal with her knew she was an awesome cook. She was a member of Gladstone Church of Christ in Nashville. She is survived by her husband of fourteen years, Bobby Hamm of Nashville; daughters, Billie (Skip) Atkins of Gatlinburg, Rita Underwood (Wayne Durham) of Dickson; grandchildren, Stephanie (Todd) Holden, Jeremy (Alanna) Atkins; great-grandchildren, Courtney Canada, Cory Canada, Elise Atkins; step-sons, Bobby (Teresa) Hamm, Terry (Penny) Hamm; step-daughter, Gina (Richard) Winchester; and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Paul Locke; daughter, Mary Evelyn Locke McDonald; brother, Tommy "Matt" Hall; and best friend, Violet Boner.
