Mary Lambert Lane

Mary Joe Lambert Lane, 83, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at NHC Healthcare of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Association, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Webb, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Carmie Lambert and Chattie Sammons Lambert. On November 5, 1960 she married Charles Buford Lane who preceded her in death December 21, 2002. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker until her children finished school and then she went into the real estate business. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed crafts and playing bingo. She was a member of the Church of God. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Terry) Little of Culleoka; sons, John (Linda) Lane of Sparta, Illinois, George (Cathy) Prince of Gahana, Ohio; brothers, Bob (Billie Jo) Lambert, Billy (Helen) Lambert, Roger (Carol) Lambert, Tom (Diane) Lambert all of Michigan; sisters, Nora (Bill) Clark, Yonna (Rick) Hinkle both of Michigan; grandchildren, Kasey Ring, Brad Little, Jason Passini, Ian Lane, Ben Lane, Whitney Prince, Shannon Price, Alex Prince; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family at NHC Healthcare of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Agnes Lambert; sisters, Gladys McCoy and Ethel Deyo; and brother, Gene Lambert. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of NHC Healthcare of Columbia.
