Mary Tom Brooks Parks, 64, resident of Murphy Lane and former resident of the Duck River Community, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Stan Butt officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Union Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Breast Cancer), 5005 Lyndon B. Hann Brooks of Columbia and the late Thomas Morrow Brooks. She was a homemaker who loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with family members and friends more than anything. She was a former member of Anderson Bend Church of Christ and currently attended Highland Church of Christ where she faithfully attended the Highland Ladies Bible Study on Wednesday nights. In addition to her mother Mrs. Parks is survived by two sons, Tommy (Gina) Parks of Williamsport and Troy (Angie) Parks of Duck River; two sisters, Velma (Howard) Moore and Ruby Scott both of the Glendale Community; brother, Jimmy Brooks of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Ginean Marie Parks and Jennifer Lynn Parks both of Williamsport, Dalton Lee Parks and Levi Cameron Parks both of Duck River. Pallbearers will be Dalton Parks, Levi Parks, William Mayberry, Ronnie King, Billy Steward, Jimbo Patton, Don Fly and Jeff Parks. Honorary pallbearers will be Wanda and Ernie Mobley, Wanda and Jerry Fly, Marie and Nelson Huey, Joelene and Richard Parks, Mildred and Jack Craig, Juanita and Will Frank Woody, Jean and Don Westmoreland, Joyce and Roy Cochran, Bonnie and Roger Callawaert, Steve Loftin, Marion and Larry Warren, Barbara Webb, Elaine and Ronald Davidson, Betty Harrington, Linda Peden, Betty Pullen, Adgil and Gene Howell, Joann Ashmore, Betty and Arnold Pruitt, Dr. Ruth Lamar and members of Anderson Bend Church of Christ.
