Mary Catherine Portwood

Mary Catherine Rector Portwood, 78, of Harriman, died Monday, May 19, 2025 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Born April 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Dick Rector, Sr. and the late Freda Cecil Rector. Mary was known for her generous spirit, deep devotion to her friends, and her lifelong love of animals. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother and was affectionately known as Nana.

She is survived by her husband, Martin Portwood; daughter, Jacinda Boyte (Brent Davidson); granddaughters, Rachel Butcher and Elise Butcher; granddogs, Slash and Axl; brothers, John Rector and Steve Rector; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
