View Funeral WebcastMrs. Mary Ledell King Vaughn, 74, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at her residence on Rieves Bend Road. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chaplain Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Rock Springs Cemetery, c/o J. C. Born in Limestone County, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Jack King and Irease Hood King. She had formerly worked at Save-A-Lot Food Store for seven years; but had more recently centered her life and love toward family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and raising flowers. One of her fondest pastimes was feeding the hummingbirds in her yard. Survivors include her husband whom she married December 19, 1959, Raymon Thomas Vaughn of Columbia; daughter, Loretta Vaughn Ayers (Byron) Kennedy of Cedar Hill, TN; son, Thomas R. Vaughn of Columbia; grandchildren, Mitchell (Amanda) Vaughn and Jeremy Ayers; great grandchildren, Veronica Vaughn, Kayleigh Ayers, Jamie Wright, Courtney Wright; sisters-in-law, Naomi Pope of Culleoka and Helen Vaughn of Columbia; aunt & uncle, Marcella & Clinton Slaughter of Garland, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Joyce Betts; and a grandson, Bobby McIntyre. Pallbearers will be Mitch Vaughn, Jeremy Ayers, Randy Ayers, David Edmiston, Scott Pope, and Tim Hardison.
