View Funeral WebcastMrs. Mary Omie King Wiley, 66, wife, mom and homemaker, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at her residence on Highland Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Windell Moore and Rev. Bob Creasy officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4:00 P.M., Thursday after 2:00 P.M., and Friday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family requests that food be delivered to the funeral home instead of the residence. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of Virginia Bolton King of Columbia and the late Robert Gentry King. She was a 1961 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a former employee of The Daily Herald. She was a Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and was very interested in genealogy research. Mrs. Wiley was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Jerry Wiley of Columbia; one son and daughter, Rev. William Robert & Angie Wiley of Lebanon; one brother, Bobby (Ophelia) King of Duck River; one sister, Sharon King of Columbia; sister-in-law, Charlotte Attkisson of Columbia; three nieces, Connie Attkisson, Lisa Ragland, Lynn Jackson; three nephews, Tony King, Tim King, Todd King; and adopted daughter and her family, Angela (Terry) Sargent and children Wil and Andrew Sargent of Columbia. She is also survived by seven special furry little friends, her pet cats and dogs. Pallbearers will be Jeff Foster, Bill Brooks, Marty Clark, Allen Vandiver, Charles Clark, R. L. King, Billy Ray King, Marvin Phibbs and Terry Sargent. Honorary pallbearers will be George Houser, James Ray Fraser, Helen & William King, Doug Brown, Betty Jackson, Nancy Adkisson, Woodrow Horton, and employees of Oakes & Nichols.
