Mary Helen Fitzgerald Woody

Mary Helen Fitzgerald Woody, 88, resident of Poplar Estates, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Lunn officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. and Monday after 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Commodore S. Fitzgerald and Lettie Brown Fitzgerald. On November 16, 1946 she married Henry Paul Woody who preceded her in death April 10, 2004. An excellent seamstress, Mrs. Woody especially enjoyed quilting and sharing her creations with her family. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her sons, Ronnie (Sandra) Woody of Spring Hill and Barry (Laura) Woody of Goodlettsville; grandchildren, Jon (Dana) Woody, Melissa (Chris) Grant, Kelly (Mike) Barcroft, Jason (Amanda) Moss; great grandchildren, Carter Grant, Michael Henry Barcroft, James Christopher Barcroft, Elijah Daniel Barcroft, Haverly Moss, Shannon Moss, Alyssa Ramirez, Gabby Ramirez; brother-in-law, James Woody; sisters-in-law, Barbara Woody and Gladys Woody; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lorene Pigg, Doris Russell, and Margarette Woody. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Maury Regional Medical Center, Caris Hospice, staff and friends from Poplar Estates.
