View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Mattie Virginia Runions Himes, 90, former resident of Galloway Street, died Saturday, June 4, 2010 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. J. D. Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her children, Dorothy Shrader of Summertown, William Himes of Columbia, Bessie Scott of Hampshire, Catherine Emler of Culleoka, Thomas Himes of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Alonzo (Connie) Himes of Stiversville, and Robert (Shelia) Himes of Mt. Pleasant; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and more on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Webb Hill Himes; sons, James Webb Himes and Edward Lewis Himes; granddaughters, Anita Kay Shrader and Carol Lee Himes. The family expresses appreciation to the staffs of Maury Regional Medical Center CCU, Rosewood Manor, and Karen Davis. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
