View Video Tribute View Funeral WebcastMrs. Meta Bell Brown Brown, 89, homemaker, farmer and resident of Greens Mill Road, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Clay Gentry, Dalton Cole, and Rev. David Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Family Cemetery on Greens Mill Road. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Dave Brown and Minnie Lou Cole Brown. She was married to Thomas Mayhue Brown who preceded her in death on March 23, 1993. Mrs. Brown was known as "The Strawberry Lady". She was a member of Lanton Church of Christ. Survivors include six daughters, Shirley (Joe) Farlow of Pottsville; Jennie (Billy) Ring and Judy (James) Burns, both of Greens Mill; Patricia (Harold) Huey and Peggy (Stan) Robertson, both of Columbia; Deborah (Larry) Collins of Spring Hill; two sons, Harold (Margi) Brown of Orlando, FL; Terry Brown of Nashville; one sister, Josie Cammuse; fifteen grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandson, Danny Coy Ring; great grandson, Richard Liam Allinder; six sisters and three brothers. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mickey Farlow, Freddie Ring, Kevin Ring, Jason Ring, Jerry Gilliam, Walter Robertson, Drew Collins, Adam Collins, and Thomas Burns.
