Michael R. Flener, 61, employee of Lithko Contracting, Inc. and resident of New Cut Road, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 7:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols with the Brothers from The Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witness officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born April 23, 1953 in Orange County, California, he was the son of Velda Ray Flener of Wheel, Tennessee and the late Laura Mae Jones Flener. In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Amity (Ray) Beckenbach of Columbia; son, Michael Flener of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren, Ethan Mealer, Laura Mealer, and Megan Mealer, all of Columbia; wife of twelve years, Jacqueline Kittrell Flener of Columbia; and cousins, Paul (Tonya) Jones and Linda (Lendell) Haislip, both of Lewisburg. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Sheryll Gray Fly who died September 15, 2012.
