Michael Rieves

Michael Edward Rieves, 66, retired employee of Sears and resident of Lewisburg, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at VA Hospital in Nashville. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Peery officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Gideon's International, 2632 Leah Drive, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Claude Edward Rieves and Alice Russell Rieves. He was married to Patricia Long Rieves who preceded him in death in 2011.A 1967 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Mr. Rieves served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his sister, Claudia (Randy) Pullen of Columbia; brother, Claude (Debbie) Scarbrough of Louisville, Tennessee; step children, Patricia Lynn Tucker and Tony Stout, both of Lewisburg; several step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
