James Michael “Mike” Ervin Sr., 70, retired mechanic for LiftOne Nashville, and resident of Columbia, TN died Monday, February 25, 2026 at his residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. Dwain Brown and Brother T. R. Williams officiating and with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Mike was born on September 5, 1955 to the late Herman “Preacher” Ervin and the late Lula Mae Collins Ervin. Mike loved farming and going to farm shows. He enjoyed building and showing tractors, and in his later years he loved to travel.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Faye Hardison Ervin; son, James Michael “Mikey” Ervin Jr.; grandchildren, Korbyn Lane Ervin, Landon Ervin, and Jaxon Ervin; brothers, Larry Collins and Joseph Alford Ervin; sister, Sheila Holt; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Woods, Leroy Turner, Allan Ervin, Joey Ervin, Tim Hardison, and Michael Hardison. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marcen Jeffiers, Craig Teal, and Allen Brown.
