View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Millard "Pap" Maxwell, 83, retired employee of Union Carbide and resident of Santa Fe Pike, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bowers and Rev. Larry McGranahan officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Putnam County native was the son of the late Austin Hartford Maxwell and Barbara Brewington Dawes Maxwell Parker. On March 6, 1948 he married Margaret Viola Shouse Maxwell who preceded him in death November 30, 2010. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Maxwell (David) Alderson of Williamsport; sons Gary (Dianne) Maxwell, Randy (Beverly) Maxwell, Tracy (Kim) Maxwell all of Santa Fe, Dwight "Bootie" (Cathy) Maxwell of Columbia; grandchildren, Anthony Alderson, Brian (Lauren) Maxwell, Shelly Maxwell (Marshall) Kinslow, Sheryl Maxwell Matthews, Michael Maxwell, Taylor Maxwell, Trent Maxwell, Trevor Maxwell; great-grandchildren Kaitlin Alderson, Sam Blalock, Chelsea Matthews, Preston Matthews, Tyler Maxwell, Eli Kinslow; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Vicki Darlene Maxwell, brother, Charles Maxwell, sisters, Juanita Derryberry and Odell Wolf, half-brother James Dawes and half-sister Edna Hammons. Pallbearers are Guy Potts, Kenny Brunson, Tommy Dawes, Troy Derryberry, Dennis Derryberry, Jerry Primm and Barry Gidcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Stewart, Dr. Steve Simmons and retirees of Union Carbide.
