Miss Christine Brown, 94, resident of Poplar Estates and former longtime resident of Joe Brown Road in Spring Hill, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Franklin Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hardison Cemetery on Joe Brown Road. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late J.E. Brown and Mary Oma Lovett Brown. She was a sitter and farmer and a very caring lady. Miss Brown was an excellent cook and had worked at Stan's Restaurant as a pastry cook. She was a member of Brown's Chapel Church of Christ. Survivors include a brother, Kelly Brown of Columbia; nieces, Marie (Allen) Brown and Margaret (Ronnie) Huckaby both of Columbia; nephew, Kelly Wayne Brown of Louisiana; several great nieces and great nephews; and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Brown and Auslyn Brown. Active pallbearers include Allen Brown, Ronnie Huckaby, David Huckaby, Stephen Johnson, Justin Briggs and Robert Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Rummage and James Cammuse. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Poplar Estate and Caris Hospice for their care and concern during her illness.
