Mr. Clifford Marion Hodge, Sr., 81, retired employee of General Motors and former resident of Clinton, Tennessee and Oxford, Michigan died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at his residence on Gravel Hill Road. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Oxford Township Cemetery in Oxford, Michigan with full military honors provide by the Oxford American Legion Post 108 and active members of the U.S. Navy. Lynch & Sons Bossardet Chapel, 39 West Burdick Street in Oxford, Michigan is in charge of arrangements. A native of Fonde, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Doc Hodge and Mattie Phillips Hodge. Mr. Hodge served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired supervisor in Quality Control and Reliability with General Motors. He was a Mason and a member of American Legion Post 108 in Oxford, Michigan. Mr. Hodge was a true Southern gentleman who loved to help everyone. Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Joan Myrtle Lewis Hodge of Columbia, TN; four sons, Chris (Linda) Hodge of Oxford, MI; Craig (Melissa) Hodge of Knoxville, TN; Chet (Debbie) Hodge of Columbia, TN; Chuck (Lena) Hodge of Gulfport, MS; two daughters, Cindy (Chris) Dixon of Lapeer, MI, Cheryl Hodge of Owosso, MI; one sister, Katie (Jay) Nidiffer of Elizabethton, TN; one brother, Barton "Moke" (Sue) Hodge of Lapeer, MI; grandchildren, Courtney Hodge, Tyler (Liz) Hodge, Mattie Hodge, Amanda Carmichael, Megan Hodge, Mackenzie Hodge, Cody Hodge, Chelsey Hodge, Chris Perlick, Douglas (Christie) Hodge, Christina Davis, Clifford Hodge, Chris Cloud, Isabella Hodge, Zach Hodge, Drew Dixon, Ryan Dixon, Seth Dixon, and Robbie Massie; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Clifford Marion Hodge, Jr. and one sister, Gwen Jenkins.
