Franklin Alexander Davis, 83, retired employee of Monsanto Company, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at his residence on Paul Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. David McGregor officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to West Point Cemetery Fund, c/o Doug Williams, 206 Carters Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Davis graduated from Red Martin's Body & Fender School and enjoyed restoring automobiles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a former member of Maury County Horseman's Association. He was always willing to help others. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Elizabeth White Davis of Columbia; two sons, Jimmy Davis of New Orleans, Louisiana; Larry (Becky) Davis of Woodstock, Georgia; two granddaughters, Natalie (Kevin) Bruce of Chatsworth, Georgia; Lindsey (Mark) Jones of Marietta, Georgia; two great grandsons, Andrew Jones; Nathaniel Jones; one brother, Frazer (Louise) Davis of Lebanon; one sister, Judy Moncrief of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Dan Davis, Amos Davis, Grover Davis, and Nick Davis. Pallbearers will relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Monsanto Company.
