View Video TributesView Funeral Webcast Gaylon Eugene Johnson, 66, retired from Nu-Kote in Franklin and resident of Circle Drive in Columbia, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday ffrom 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of Esther Woodard Johnson of the Campbellsville Community and the late Dalton Johnson. He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School. On September 1, 1972 he married Thelma Jean Williams Johnson of Columbia who survives him. Mr. Johnson was an avid sportsman who enjoyed baseball, football and wrestling. He also loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Johnson is survived by his son, Roger Eugene Johnson of Columbia; brother, William Dalton Johnson of Campbellsville; sisters, Sue Rose and Sandra Johnson, both of Campbellsville; granddaughter ,Patricia Jean Johnson of Columbia; brother-in-law, Lee (Martha Jane) Williams of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Steven Williams, Wayne Williams, Daniel Williams, Matthew Williams, Charles Johnson, Michael Rose, Phillip Johnson and Bruce Johnson.
