Mark Jeffrey King, 37, special events manager at Walt Disney World, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at Florida Hospital Celebration Health in Celebration, Florida. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. Dwain Brown, Rev. Richard VanCleave and Betty Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Saturday after 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He was a 1992 graduate of Columbia Central High School where he was active in Student Government and served as Junior Class Vice President and Senior Class President. He was the Boys' State Delegate during his junior year and the Maury County Delegate to National Youth Legislature during his senior year. Mark attended University of Tennessee in Knoxville for two years prior to accepting fulltime employment at Walt Disney World. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Edna Young Lynn of Columbia; uncle and aunt, Clifford and Betty Lynn of Eagleville; best friend, Robb LaFlamme of Celebration, Florida; several cousins; and his extended family at Walt Disney World. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Lynn; and paternal grandparents, Finis & Frankie Wood King. Pallbearers will be Granville Cheatham, Edgar Deason, Robb LaFlamme, Kevin Lynn, James Douglas, and Ray Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be his extended family at Walt Disney World and the staff of First United Methodist Weekday School.
