Mrs. Elizabeth Ellen Shouse Brunson, 83, longtime resident of Pawnee Trail, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Hubert Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was married to William Tarlton Brunson who preceded her in death on July 17, 2008. She had been employed at Stone's Restaurant and Dixie Manufacturing and retired from Weather Tamer. Mrs. Brunson was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, William Ken Brunson of Columbia; one daughter, Connie Sue (Mark) Tabor of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one sister Mary (R. B.) Potts of Santa Fe; seven grandchildren, Chris Brunson, Cayci Brunson, Cory Brunson, Cayla Brunson, Collin Brunson, Lauren Tabor, Ryan Tabor; two great-grandchildren Michaela Brunson and Christopher "Bubba" Brunson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Thelma Oakley, Genevieve Hill, Pauline Andrews, Wilma Stanfill, Margaret Maxwell and three brothers, Van B. "Buster" Shouse, Fred Shouse and Raleigh Shouse. Pallbearers will be Guy Potts, Dwain Andrews, John William Stanfill, Ernie Culberson, Tracy Maxwell, Randy Maxwell, Gregg Shouse, Billy Shouse, Gary Maxwell and Dwight "Bootie" Maxwell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Adult 1 Sunday School Class at St. Luke United Methodist Church. A special thank you to Judy Culberson and other nieces and nephews and Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. Jon Freels and the nursing staff at Maury Regional Medical Center.
