Mrs. Emily Barnes Warren, 88, homemaker and former resident of West Seventh Street, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Melinda Britt officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. The Robertson County native was the daughter of the late Edward R. Barnes and Mattie Lou Sherrod Barnes. She was married to Claude Wesley "Jack" Warren who preceded her in death on February 10, 2003. She was a graduate of Hay Long High School in Mt. Pleasant. An excellent cook, Mrs. Warren enjoyed hosting events and sharing time and recipes with friends and loved ones. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include one sister, Bettilynn Streater of Memphis; eight nieces, Sandy Kennett of Charlotte, North Carolina; Diann Crews and Judy Trevathan, both of Brentwood; Suzanne McCabe of Memphis; Debbie Delzell and Mary Brown, both of Nashville; Beverly Barnes of Murfreesboro; Martha Barnes of Huntsville, Alabama; one nephew, Lonnie Daniels of Mt. Pleasant; several great nieces and great nephews; and many great great nieces and great great nephews.
