View Funeral Webcast Evelyn Mangrum Graves, 88, resident of Sherry Drive, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Life Care of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Peery officiating. Burial will follow in Graves Cemetery in Perry County. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. and Thursday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Maury County, Mrs. Graves was the daughter of the late Walter Woods Mangrum and Charity Lovie Haywood Mangrum. She was a 1940 graduate of Central High School and also graduated from Columbia Business College. On August 12, 1941 she married Thomas Ransom Graves who preceded her in death on March 31, 1999. She was a former longtime resident of the Carters Creek Community and loved fishing. Mrs. Graves was a member of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Tom (Dan) Watkins, Roseann (Doug) Williams, Judy (Mitchell) Johns all of Columbia; two sons, Tim (Oleta) Graves of Lascassas and Johnny (LaDonna) Graves of Old Hickory; eleven grandchildren, Carol (Paul) Becker, Tammy (Daryl) Crain, Lynn (Jon) Pollard, Brian (Michelle) Graves, Steven (Jen) Graves, Darrell Williams, Lisa Johns, Scott Graves, Shana (D.J.) Denning, Greg Johns, Daniel (Brittany) Johns; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Wendy Graves; a sister, Tennie Todzonia; and a brother-in-law, John Todzonia. Active pallbearers are Doug Williams, Dan Watkins, Mitchell Johns, Larry Joe Patton, Billy Erwin and Charlie Ingram. Honorary pallbearers include Porter Arnold, Gene Quarles, David Wise, Lexie Sparkman, Phil Sellers, Hugh Erwin, Jerry Erwin and the congregation of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
