Mrs. Frances Margaret Childress Wiley, 82, resident of Leipers Creek Road in Williamsport, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Donna Higginbotham and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Jessie Hobert Childress and Josie Lee Walker Childress. In her younger years she had been employed at different times as a telephone operator and a sales clerk at Woolworth Drugstore. Later she devoted her time to her family as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church. Survivors include four sons Larry (Anne) Wiley, Dennis (Cherry) Wiley both of Columbia, Richard (Teresia) Wiley of Warrior, Alabama, Steve Wiley of Lynnville; sister, Delores Meissner of Columbia; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of over forty-nine years, Robert E. Wiley who died in 1997 and by a daughter, Carol Wiley who died in 1986. Pallbearers will be Jess Wiley, Andrew Wiley, David Parks, Richard Wiley, Jr., Richmond Hendrix, Jonathan Wiley, Jerry Fly, Ronald Dark and Jerry Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Fly, Sonny Jones, and the men of Williamsport United Methodist Church.
