View Video Tribute View Fuineral Webcast Sammie Jacqueline "Jackie" Doggett Butler, 83, former longtime resident of Davis Avenue, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Otis Doggett and Evelyn Pierce Doggett. On June 16, 1951, she married Ores Butler who preceded her in death August 4, 2004. Mrs. Butler was retired from General Electric and a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Glen (Dana) Butler of Lebanon; daughters, Mrs. Lydia Shivers and Mrs. Lynda (David) Rash both of Columbia; grandchildren, Stacie Lotts, Gerald Shivers, Shannon (Richard) Lambert, Brandy (Adrian) Wilson, Charles Rash, Ethan Bult; great-grandchilden, Kasey Lotts, Michael Lotts, Maddux Lambert, Knox Lambert, Harper Lynn Wilson; and brothers, Robert (Polly) Doggett and Ronnie Doggett both of Louisville, Kentucky. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include the staff at Morning Pointe Assisted Living.
