Mrs. Virginia Lee "Jenny" Lewis Peck, 69, of St. Louis, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, July 2, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Columbia native Myron K. Peck IV.Funeral services will be at the Church of St. Michael and St. George, Episcopal, in Clayton, Missouri on Monday, July 11 at 10 am. On Wednesday, July 13, at 10 am, family and friends will gather at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and proceed to St. John's Churchyard in Ashwood. Father Richard Zalesak, Rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, will conduct the Order for the Burial of the Dead at the graveside. Following the service, the family will visit with friends at St. Peter's Episcopal Church Parrish Hall.The family suggests memorials to St. John's Episcopal Church, 1116 West 7th St. PMB#75, Columbia, TN 38401. Jenny was born to Roy Terrell Lewis and Ruby Lee Lewis (nee Quinn) on Oct. 24, 1941 in Big Spring, Texas, and grew up in southeast Missouri. She married Mr. Peck in 1962 and became a Registered Nurse upon her graduation from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis in 1963. Jenny practiced nursing until 1965, when she resigned to raise a family. In 1981 she returned to active nursing, retiring in 1994. Mrs. Peck was an avid genealogist, tracing her kinfolk, living and dead. Many of the living became fast friends. As a related interest, she was active in the United Daughters of the Confederacy, serving as President of its Missouri Division (2002-2004). Jenny was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Manakin Huguenot Society, and the Church of St. Michael and St. George, Episcopal, in St. Louis.Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Myron K. (Kristi) Peck V of St. Louis and Bruce Q. (Michelle) Peck of Sacramento, CA; six grandchildren, Myron K. Peck VI, Tyler M. Peck, Will J. Peck, Kate L. Peck of St. Louis and Annabelle B. Peck, Olivia Q. Peck of Sacramento; her mother-in-law, Harriet P. Peck of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Alice P. Butcher of Columbia; two brothers-in-law, Edward V. (Sandra) Peck of Ellensburg, WA and Matthew J. Peck of Lewisburg, TN. Pallbearers will be Bob Duncan, Steve Chase, Dr. Bill Hope, Jim McCord, Mack Miles, Stuart "Butch" Schulz, and John Stephens.
