View Funeral WebcastJoyce Cummings Morris, 88, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at her residence in Colonial Village Apartments on Hatcher Lane. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Gibsonville Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon to service time at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Franklin Cummings and Minnie Pearl Harris Cummings. She was a retired time study technician for Weather-Tamer and also was employed by the Safeguard Company in Covington, Kentucky for several years. Since retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her love of sewing and flower gardening. Survivors include two sisters, Ima Cummings Bradley of Covington, Kentucky and Lorna May Cummings Jackl of Pleasant Hill, California; and several nieces and nephews, including a devoted niece, Corrine Goetz of Columbia. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lena Norman, Sarah Oliver, Gladys Sutton, Nina Lovett, and Ivie Cummings; and two brothers, Luther Cummings and Kenneth Cummings
