Mrs. Lucille Bolton Johnson, 90, retired employee of Tennessee Knitting Mills and resident of Sharon Circle, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango and Rev. Brandon Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Odie Lee Bolton and Clara Ann Harden Bolton. She was first married to John Wendell McFarland who died in December 1942. On February 1, 1947, she married Willie Paul Johnson who preceded her in death on August 24, 1997. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed reading and word search puzzles. She was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday School, the Ladies' Sewing Club, and worked in the nursery for sixteen years. Survivors include two daughters, Marie (Troy) Bowers of Columbia; Barbara (Ralph) Jenkins of Nolensville; one son, Borgie (Florence) Johnson of Clermont, Florida; one brother, John (Irene) Pipkin of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Pipkin of Oak Ridge; one brother-in-law, John Thomas (Doris) Johnson of Columbia; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ann McFarland Lynn; two sisters, Blanche Dietch, Jane Chanaberry; and two brothers, Henry Pipkin and A. W. Pipkin. Pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, Duane Johnson, Gary Bowers, Keith Bowers, Kurt Bowers, and Marty Leland. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles McBroom and members of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
