Mrs Marcia Hurt Anderson

Marcia Catherine Hurt Anderson, 69, resident of Sunnyside Drive, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Smith, Rev. Scott Aleridge and Rev. Melinda Britt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Davidson County Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of the late Mark Lafayette Hurt and Catherine Mathis Hurt. She was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School and attended Martin Methodist College where in 1959 she met her future husband. On May 28, 1960 she married Rev. John W. Anderson of Columbia who survives her. She was retired from the Maury County School System where she worked for thirty five years in payroll and was a member of First United Methodist Church. In her passing she will be missed by all who loved her. Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, Mark (Cathy) Anderson and Tom Anderson; three grandsons, Preston Jon Anderson, Marc Taylor Anderson, Matthew Garrett Anderson; one granddaughter, Leslie Danielle Anderson; and her dear friend of thirty five years, Agnes Young. Pallbearers will be Preston Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Doug Burgess, Ray Roberts and Jeff Farris.
