Mrs Margaret A Attkisson McCormick

Mrs. Margaret A. Attkisson Bray McCormick, 83, retired chef and former resident of Woodland St., died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at NHC Hillview. A graveside service was conducted Tuesday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Mike Tidwell officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. A native of Giles County she was the daughter of the late U.B. Attkisson, Sr. and Violet Lee Tyler Attkisson. She was first married to Mark Bray who preceded her in death on June 29, 1961. On July 21, 1965 she married Gordon McCormick who preceded her in death on December 12, 1984. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy (William) Hardison of Pulaski and Eleanor (Tommy) England of Columbia; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Witherspoon and Fay Attkisson and three brothers, C.R. Attkisson, J.W. Attkisson and U.B. Attkisson, Jr. Nephews and Nephews-in-law served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Cummins Couch, Karen Perry and the staff at NHC Hilview.
