Mrs. Nell Rose Phillips Hileman, 78, resident of Spears Lane, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ron Gleaves officiating. The Hawkins County native was the daughter of the late Wilbur Ray Phillips and Willie Pearl Anderson Phillips. On February 10, 1954 she married Dale Hileman of Columbia who survives her. She was a graduate of Bulls Gap High School in Bulls Gap, Tennessee and attended Greenville Business College. Mrs. Hileman was retired as a bookkeeper from Massingill-McCreary & Gregg in Morristown, Tennessee. Mrs. Hileman was a member of Northside Baptist Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Gary (Sherry) Hileman of Columbia; grandson, Adam Hileman of Antioch; granddaughter, Amanda (Adam) Fuller of Columbia; great-grandson, Blake Fuller of Columbia; great-granddaughter, Paige Fuller of Columbia; and a nephew, Phillip (Lynn) Purkey of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Purkey in 2010.
