Murline Price Whitton

Carrie Murline Price Whitton, 81, former resident of Collinsville, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her residence on Wayne Street in Columbia, Tennessee. A graveside inurnment service will be held on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, Arkansas. Born in Brookland, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Carrel Price and Offie Lee Emily Swindle Price. In 1956 she married James Otis Whitton who preceded her in death on January 15, 1975. For a short period she was employed at Johansen Shoe Company in Missouri. She enjoyed being a volunteer with Senior Citizens lunch program while in Illinois and attending yard sales and auctions. Mrs. Whitton was a member of Fairview Heights Church of Christ where she assisted with their Clothes Closet. Survivors include her son, James Gary Whitton of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Margie Price of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Muriel Price of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and great great nieces and great great nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Manuel Price and Franklin Price; and sister, Mary Maxine Price.
