Ollie J. Wagers, 79, retired employee of General Motors, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his residence on Redwood Circle. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M at Knox Funeral Home in Barbourville, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Trace Branch Community Cemetery in Heidrick, Kentucky. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Knox Funeral Home, 325 Knox Street, Barbourville, Kentucky. Born March 8, 1936 in Salyersville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ames Wages and Nola Keeton Wages. On August 3, 1985 he married Nettie Barnes Wagers who preceded him in death May 31, 2007. Mr. Wagers proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include daughters, Marcia (Dave) Cox of Independence, KY; Diane Cobb of Columbia, TN; Kathy (Tom) Jacobs of Lewisburg, TN; Terry Bucklin of Cincinnati, OH; sons, Roy L. (Debra) Cobb of Columbia, TN; Jerry (Ellen) Green of Berea, KY; brother, Oatis (Geneva) Wagers of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Gaye (Earle) Brock of Salt Lick, KY; Faye Hedrick of Harriman, TN; host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers, and three sisters. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
