Oma Mai Shepherd Owen Hindman, 90, former twenty-year employee of Weather Tamer and longtime resident of North Hardin Drive, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ezell Rose and Rev. David Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow in Theta Baptist Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Theta Baptist Cemetery, c/o Judy C. Shepherd and Lou Rainey Parrish Shepherd. She attended Maury County schools including Theta and Union. She was first married to Thomas Allen Owen who preceded her in death in 1965 and later married Amos Hindman who also preceded her in death in 2005. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Allene (Jerry E.) Norman, Stella (Dr. Joel) Hargrove, and Alice Faye Owen, all of Columbia; Carolyn Owen Todd of Lynnville; Shirley Owen Reed of Nashville; sons, William T. (Barbara) Owen of Pulaski; Jackie Ray (Marilyn) Owen of Mt. Pleasant; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Sean Flahardy, Marshall Owen, Eric Keller, Gabriel Meece, Jon Prosise, and Tim Fortune. Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Joel Hargrove, Eugene Williams, Lathette "Junior" Foster, Nicky Savage, and the caregivers on the North Hall of Life Care Center.
