Patricia Lou Spencer Hill passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, in Columbia, Tennessee. She was born on August 24, 1945, in Winchester, Tennessee, to the late Uhlan Vance Spencer and Myra Yates Spencer.
Pat attended Franklin County High School in Winchester, Tennessee, and later graduated from David Lipscomb College with a degree in education. She devoted 33 years of her life to teaching, serving at Margaret Allen Elementary School in Nashville, Tennessee, and Highland Park Elementary School in Columbia, Tennessee. Pat had a genuine love for children and made a lasting impact on the countless students whose lives she touched throughout her teaching career. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, and the care she showed her students reflected the kindness and compassion that defined her life.
Pat was a woman of deep compassion, abiding love, and unwavering faith in God. She was a faithful and active member of the Graymere Church of Christ, West 7th Church of Christ, and South Gate Church of Christ. She lived out her faith through her words, her actions, and the way she cared for others. Pat faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and grace. No matter the difficulties she or her family encountered, she rarely complained, choosing instead to meet each day with quiet perseverance and steadfast faith. Her example was a testament to the strength that comes from trusting in God.
Pat shared a beautiful life and loving partnership with her beloved husband, Carter Wayne Hill. In July, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, marking six decades of love, commitment, and cherished memories. They enjoyed spending time together, traveling, and experiencing life's many joys side by side. Their enduring marriage was a testament to their devotion to one another and the life they built together.
Pat treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother who found great joy in the lives of those she loved. Her love for her family was evident in the way she lived, and that love was returned many times over. Through her faith, strength, kindness, and selfless devotion, she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of her family and all who knew her.
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband, Carter Wayne Hill; her children, Troy (Tara) Hill, Traci (Troy) Williams, and Trent (Lori) Hill; and her grandchildren, Houston (Claudia) Williams, Spencer (Anna) Hill, Katie (Zach) Miller, Rachel (Will) Clark, Emma Kate (Justin) Davis, Linley Hill, Daniel Hill, and Jacob Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Columbia Academy or South Gate Church of Christ.
