View Video Tribute View Funeral WebcastPaula Ann "Granny" Estes Dorton, 67, resident of the Duck River Community and former employee for Weather-Tamer, died Friday, December 27, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Dorton was very devoted to her great grandchildren and loved soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives. She enjoyed fishing and working crossword puzzles. She was of Baptist faith.She is survived by her husband, Donald Dorton of Duck River; daughters Tuttie (Tim) Carter of Columbia, Kristie Hadley of Columbia, and Susan (Joseph) Cox of Columbia: son, James (Joanie) Dawes of Culleoka; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her daughter, Shelia Dawes and one brother, Clarence "Slim" Estes. Her grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.
