View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Ida Pauline Jones Tice, 93, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at her residence on Culleoka Highway in Tice Town. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Bailey and Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Bryant Cemetery in the Mooresville Community. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Burney Jones and Mary Emily Sexton Jones. On January 3, 1938 she married Eldon Thurman Tice who preceded her in death September 19, 1975. Early in life she worked at the Culleoka Tomato Factory where she met her husband. Later she was owner/operator of Tice Grocery and was instrumental in the development of Ridgewood Park Estates in Culleoka. Mrs. Tice loved gardening, quilting, sewing, and was an avid traveler and an excellent cook. She was a member of Mooresville Pike Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Shelby Graham Riddle of Columbia, Jerline Sharp Key of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Sallie Jones Holder of Lewisburg, Betty Jo Jones Wilson of Lynnville; brother, Clifford Jones of Manchester; grandchildren, Felicia Sharp Hart of Dallas, Texas, Robin (Dawn) Sharp of Union, Missouri, Gwen Graham (Rev. Gary) Bailey of Culleoka, Clint (Jennifer) Graham of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Hart, Cassie Sharp, Alex Sharp, Cody Sharp, Rebekah Bailey, Rachel Bailey, Anna Bailey, Matthew (Tabitha) Graham, Ashley Graham; great-great grandchildren, Blake Sharp, Henry Reiker, Acelyn Graham, Ory Graham; sisters-in-law Katherine Holder Jones of Columbia, Thelma Turner Jones of Lynnville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Adelle Pickard, Irene Haislip and brothers, Preston Jones, Porter Jones and Eugene Jones. Active pallbearers include Ray Cherry, Harlan Jones, Bobby Dial, Matthew Graham, Kelsey North, Randy Stewart, Tommy Blalock, Kevin Pickard and Jimmy Haislip. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mooresville Pike Baptist Church. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Angela Joynes, Dr. Karen Davis, Dr. Michael Cookson and their staffs, and Hospice Compassus, Nurse Allison and Tech Brandy.
