View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Mrs. Peggy Totty Caskey, 70, resident of General Roberts Drive, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Greg Daimwood and Joe Macer officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Raymond Foster Totty and Clara Follis Totty. She was reared in Riverside making her a proud Riverside Rat and was a 1958 graduate of Central High School. On April 19, 1960 she married Jake T. Caskey of Columbia who survives. Mrs. Caskey was employed at Riverside School as a Library Assistant for twenty-one years. She was an active Wagon Wheelers Square Dancer and volunteered with the Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was very active with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America and in 1976 she and her husband were the first couple to receive the Long Rifle Award, a distinct honor. Mrs. Caskey was a member of Ephesus Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Michael (Jamie) Caskey of Murfreesboro, Todd (Carnice) Caskey of Columbia, David Caskey of Culleoka; grandchildren, Brooke (Cory) Prewitt and Parker Caskey both of Murfreesboro, Paige Caskey, J.T. Caskey, Adam Caskey and Cole Wilson all of Columbia; sister, Patsy Loveless of Columbia; and brother, Don (Debi) Totty of Franklin. Active pallbearers will be Willard Murphy, Eddie Harris, Phil Lindsey, Berry Vestal, Ken Cooper, Jimmy Fogg, Randy Walters, Andy Woodard and Jack Atnip. Honorary pallbearers include Wagon Wheeler Square Dancers, retired employees from Riverside Elementary School, and Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Volunteers. The family extends special thanks to Lori Case, Gina Kramer, Dr. Rafat Abonour, and the Oncology staff at Maury Regional Medical Center.
