Peggy Louise Witherspoon Prentice, 75, resident of Duck River, died Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born August 25, 1950 in Columbia, TN, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Hansel Witherspoon and the late Sarah Louise Graves Witherspoon. On July 15, 1994 she married Clifford Thomas “Tommy” Prentice, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2017. Mrs. Prentice was retired from Floyd & Floyd Contractors, where she had been an administrative assistant for many years. She enjoyed flowers and hummingbirds, and she loved to dance and listen to music. Mrs. Prentice never met a stranger, and was everybody’s “Nana”, but above all she loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Holly (Orlando) Gaines; grandchildren, Kameron Dudley, AnnaKaye Elizabeth, Trevor Gaines, Dayton Gaines, Logan (Rachel) Prentice, and Ali Griffin (Justin) Richardson; great-grandson, Logan Belli; brother, Lloyd Harvell (Frances) Witherspoon; and several nieces and nephews.
