Peter Fyfe Watson

Peter Fyfe Watson, a warm and courageous Giles County man, died Jan. 10 after a long fight with cancer. Loved ones surrounded him as his suffering ended at Vanderbilt University Hospital, his birthplace 54 years ago. Peter was assistant coach for the junior high girls soccer team at Richland School in Lynnville and previously coached in the county's recreational soccer league. He worked as a biotech and pharmaceutical consultant. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lynnville Presbyterian Church. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia Fyfe Watson and James Jerry Watson. Survivors include Peter's wife, Robin Shaw Watson, and their two daughters, Georgia and Shelby, along with extended family members in Alabama and Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
