Born in Lawrence County she was a graduate of Lawrence County High School and attended Columbia State Community College, majoring in accounting and business. She worked as an accountant for several companies early in her career and eventually opened Galloway Business Services, providing accounting service to clients in Tennessee and Alabama. Mrs. Galloway served Columbia, Maury County, and Tennessee in many ways through activities in civic, charitable, and political organizations. She volunteered countless hours as and member and officer of the Board of Directors of Hope House of Columbia. She also served on the Board of The Family Center for several years. The Columbia Business & Professional Women's Club named her "Woman of the Year" in 1994; the Columbia Exchange Club named her "Exchangite of the Year" in 1999; and she was the first woman to receive the "Jimmy Matthews Community Service Award" in June, 2008. She served as secretary/treasurer for the Maury County Fair from 1982 - 2007. She was a member and former officer of Columbia Elks Lodge #686 and was a member of the 2003 graduating class of Leadership Maury. A life-long Democrat, Mrs. Galloway served on the Maury County Election Commission from 2005 - 2009 and served as Treasurer of the Maury County Democratic Party since 1993. She was campaign treasurer for Gary Ledbetter's 1994 State Senate campaign and for Bobby Sands' State Representative and judicial campaigns from 1996-2009; and campaign treasurer for Nancy L. Richardson's campaign for County Clerk in 2010. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. Her husband, Jim, family, and many friends supported her through surgery and treatment. She lobbied in Washington, D. C. in 1999 for breast cancer issues with the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition. When Jim was diagnosed with leukemia, their roles reversed and Prebble became the caretaker throughout his treatment and illness. In December 2007, she learned she had metastastic breast cancer and underwent treatment with high expectations of having it under control. She dealt with the latest adversity in the same manner she dealt with everything in her life. with courage, grace, dignity, and a sense of humor. She was a member and worshiped at West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church; served on the worship committee, and sang in the choir. She loved her church and church family. She credited her unflagging faith in God with getting her through the tough times of being a single mother, the death of her husband, two bouts with cancer, as well as the usual day to day struggles.
