View Funeral Webcast Prentice Cooper "Hoss" Emler, 70, retired from ICP, former employee of Conalco, and resident of Old Williamsport Pike, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Argine Hughes and Rev. Gene Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Born in the Cross Bridges Community, he was the son of the late Harvey Emler and Mai Gibson Emler and a member of Zion Acres Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Ree Jones Emler, whom he married November 17, 1957; daughter, Becky (Darrell) Foster of Columbia; son, Prentice Cooper (Allison) Emler, Jr. of Summertown; sisters, Willie Mai (Rev. Argine) Hughes and Hortense Mayberry, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Crystal Foster, Brian Watkins, Kayla Anderson, Steven Anderson, Eli Emler; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Anderson. Active pallbearers are Tommy Mayberry, Donald Arbuckle, Billy Sargent, Tommy Stanfill, Terry Luttrell, and Guy Ward Davidson.
