View Funeral WebcastRachel E. Head Cooley, 88, died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12 at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Morris officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late George Head and Fannie Mae Whitworth Head. She had been employed by Peebles at Shady Brook Mall. Mrs. Cooley was a long time member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Doris Ann (Jack) Barnes and Lynda (Steve) Dyer both of Manchester, GA; a son, Larry Cooley of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Wood of Prattville, AL, Sean (Tiffany) Dyer of Columbus, GA, Angel Arrington of Manchester, GA; and four great-grandsons.
