View Funeral Webcast Rachel Deene Morrow Massey, 89, retired from Tennessee Farmers Insurance Company and resident of the Cross Bridges Community, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Bishop Douglas Fry and Bishop Bill Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Bridges Cemetery. Born and reared in the Hampshire Community of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Connie Morrow and Edna Scott Morrow. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In addition to being active in her church, she enjoyed genealogy, flower gardening, and crossword puzzles. Accomplished with a needle, her handiwork included crocheting and quiltmaking. Mrs. Massey was retired from Tennessee Farmers Insurance Company with 33 years service where she worked as Supervisor of the Auto Division for a number of years. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Sherman Massey; daughter, Sherrell Hickman of Cross Bridges; sisters, Betty (Wayne) Clawson of Utah, Mildred Parker of Columbia, and Connie (Dr. Taylor) Rayburn of Columbia; brother, Ulner (Dolores) Morrow of Hampshire; several dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Rebecca Callahan, Annie McCaleb, Edna Vowells, Mary Dastrup; and brother, Robert Morrow. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Life Care of Columbia, the CCU and Hospice unit nurses at Maury Regional Medical Center, and to her doctors for their care and kindness; and all family and many friends for love and support during her illness. Pallbearers are Stephen Morrow, David Morrow, Scott Morrow, Andrew Morrow, Lewis Holt, Rickey Massey, Rodney Massey, and Michael Massey.
