Randy Michael Farris

Randy Michael Farris, 73, was called home to Heaven on August 30, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him best. He was born on July 31, 1953, in Columbia, Tennessee to Kenneth McLain Farris and Wanda Howell Farris, who precedes him in death.

Randy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Jan Dodd Farris, and together they built a life they cherished and created an eternity of memories.

Randy spent much of his career working with his hands as well his mind. He worked for Stauffer Chemical Company from 1973 until 1991, where he retired as an electrical supervisor. In 1991 he began working for Nissan. He remained there until his retirement in 2014, working in electrical while specializing in robotics. He also owned and operated Farris Electric in Columbia and Winchester, Tennessee, as well as Farris Wheels in Winchester.

Randy’s faith was an important part of his life. He was a member of the Winchester Church of Christ, where he found fellowship and community among fellow believers.

He had a lifelong love for the things that brought him joy. Randy was a member of the Corvette Club and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Atlanta Braves. He also cherished the simple moments spent with family and friends, leaving behind memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Randy is survived by his wife, Jan Dodd Farris; his children, Byran (Rachel) Farris, Justin Farris, Chad (Supakanya) Smith, Tara (Scotty) Scharber, Erritt Smith, and Evinn (Dottie) Smith; his grandchildren, Chaney Farris, Cole Farris, Blake (Channing) Perry, Resa Smith, Baylee Ingle, and Cade Ingle; and his great-grandchildren Pierson and Parker Perry, and Weston Ingle.

He is also survived by his brothers, Barry (Martha) Farris, Ronnie (Susan) Farris, David (AnneMarie) Farris, and Kevin (Jodie) Farris, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and of course dear friends. He was preceded in death by Mary Dodd Maxwell, his beloved Mother-in-Law.

Randy’s life will also be honored by his pallbearers, Cade Ingle, Cole Farris, Brenton Rogers, Lee Sweeney, Allen Rogers, Tony Harrison, Erritt Smith, Evinn Smith, Sonny Gattis, Ronnie Neal, and Mike Dickson, and his honorary pallbearers, the ROMEO group of Franklin County.

He leaves behind a legacy far greater than the years he lived. His love for his family, his faith, his work, and the people whose lives he touched will continue through every story told, every memory shared, and every generation that follows.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing that his earthly journey is complete and that the memories and love he gave so freely will remain forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Winchester Church of Christ from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Bro T.
