Raybon C Spencer

Mr. Raybon Cordell Spencer, 85, former resident of Martin Hollow Road in Culleoka, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrence County. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.The Maury County native, known affectionately by some of his friends as "Codge", was the son of the late Herschel Spencer and Pearl Henson Spencer. He enjoyed playing the fiddle, banjo and guitar and was an avid CB radio operator whose handle was "Clothesline Charlie." Mr. Spencer was a member of the church of Christ. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and numerous friends including Jack May and Jill Warren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Hobbs Spencer who died February 26, 1992; a sister, Viola Spencer; and brothers, Carl Spencer, Leon Spencer and Virgil Spencer.
