View Video TributeRaymond Edgar Pigg, 84, retired employee of Amerigas, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his residence in the Stiversville Community. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Hopewell Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Roberts officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Willis Edgar Pigg and Nellie Jane Cummins Pigg. He began his forty year career with the propane company Southern LP and worked at the same location through name changes including Petrolane and Amerigas. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Pigg enjoyed raising tobacco, gardening, fishing and bird hunting. He loved people and was fond of spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife whom he married August 12, 1961, Joanne Chaffin Pigg of Stiversville Community; daughter, Regina (Jeff) Lucas of Murfreesboro; sons, Kenny Pigg and David (Angel) Pigg, both of Culleoka; sisters, Jean (Jerry) Caldwell of Biloxi, Mississippi; Frances Dickson of Columbia; Faye (Jack) Roundtree of East Tennessee; brothers, Floyd (Margaret) Pigg of Stiversville Community; Lewis Pigg of Alabama; Carl (Becky) Pigg of Giles County; and grandchildren, Jason Pigg, Justin Pigg, Makayla Johnson, Austin Johnson, and Maci Lynn Pigg. Active pallbearers will be Jason Pigg, Justin Pigg, Mike Pigg, Floyd Pigg, Jr., Daryl Thrasher, and Royal Dickson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present employees of Amerigas and men of Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
