Raymond Winter Sheehan Sr

View Funeral Webcast Raymond Winter Sheehan, Sr., 78, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his residence in Jefferson, Louisiana. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Clair Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Hartford, Connecticut he was the son of the late Edward H. Sheehan and Evelyn Winter Sheehan. He attended Louisiana State University and Delgado Trade School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was stationed on the U.S.S. Rockbridge APA in Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. Sheehan was a retired machinist with Buck Kreihs Company in Jefferson Louisiana. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Brown Sheehan of Jefferson, Louisiana who is a Maury County native; step-son, Phillip Lee Matte, Jefferson, Louisiana; sister, Evelyn Tersavich of Connecticut; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond W. Sheehan, Jr.
