She was married November 1, 1935 to James Allison Thompson and was a talented homemaker and helper to him during their 52-year marriage until his death July 15, 1987. Mrs. Thompson was a faithful member of the Culleoka Church of Christ where she taught classes and was known and admired for her extensive knowledge of the Bible. An avid reader and talented seamstress, she occupied her time by learning and making things for her family. Her handmade quilts were created to perfection and treasured by her family. For others, over 100 handmade Teddy Bears are appreciated and enjoyed. She was a caring Mother and wonderful Grandmother. Affectionately called "Memunny" by her grandchildren and close family, she was a wonderful cook, using her green thumb to grow and preserve the vegetables they raised in their garden. Her love of flowers was widely known and appreciated by those who were in her close circle of family and friends. Survivors include a sister, Alice Dugger Smith of Pulaski; daughter, Celia Thompson Foster of Nashville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Rebecca Thompson and Jacky and Patsy Thompson of Culleoka; grandchildren, Bill (Marsha) Foster, LeAnne (Kevin) Hale, Diana (Jay) Thornell, Lindy (Joe) Gill, Robin (Marty) Smith, and Robert (Julie) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Allen Foster, Ethan Foster, Emilie Hale, Anna Hale, Madison Smith, Lincoln Smith, Elizabeth Thornell, Clayton Thompson, Wesley Thompson, McClure Gill, and Jane Claire Gill; sisters-in-law, Ozella Dugger and Helen Kincade. She was preceded in death by brothers, Lindsey Dugger and Ellis (Lucille) Dugger, and a granddaughter, Maria Thompson Knox, all of Culleoka. Serving as pallbearers are Bill Foster, Kevin Hale, Joe Gill, Marty Smith, Robert Thompson, and Jerry Knox. Elders and Deacons of Culleoka Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers. The Thompson family is sincerely grateful to her faithful caregivers for their kindness and loving care during her illness.
