Rebecca Demastus Ballard

Mrs. Rebecca Ann Demastus Ballard, 68, died at her residence on Gardendale Drive, Thursday, September 12, 2013. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Concord Cemetery with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to The American Heart Association, P.O. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Nick Howell Demastus and Katie Daniels Demastus and was a graduate of Culleoka High School. On June 7, 1966 she married Roy Paul Ballard who preceded her in death on August 4, 2007. Mrs. Ballard was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother and was devoted to her dog "Max". She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include her son, Michael Roy (Susan) Ballard of Columbia; daughter, Stacy Renee (Gentry Travis) Baer of Columbia; grandchildren, Laura Michelle (Andrew) Howe, Nathan Cord Vance, Heather Renee Young; great grandchild, Mariah Elizabeth Ballard; sisters, Juanita Gail Demastus (James) Davis of Columbia, Thada Karen Demastus (Ray) Green of Lynnville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Demastus. Active pallbearers will be Wendell Davis, Randy Davis, Derek Davis, Triston Davis, Nick Green and Nathan Vance. Honorary pallbearers include neighbors and friends on Gardendale Drive.
