Mrs. Margaret Rebecca Johnson Gilliam, 89, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Andrew Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Elmer Johnson and Beulah Harmon Johnson. On August 27, 1938 she married Walter C. Gilliam who preceded her in death November 4, 1997. Mrs. Gilliam was a homemaker and member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. She was a longtime resident of the Howard Bridge Community in Maury County before moving to Kansas City, Kansas in 1996. She is survived by a son, Charles (Nancy) Gilliam of Ottawa, Kansas, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Walter Thomas Gilliam and James Harding Gilliam, a sister, Ila Campbell and a brother, J.C. Johnson.
