View Video Tribute Rebecca Ann "Becky" Thorpe Marshall, 85, retired bookkeeper for Old Hickory Tool & Dye Company and former resident of East Thompson Lane in Nashville, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Provision Assisted Living in Hermitage. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Crieve Hall Church of Christ, 4806 Trousdale Lane, Nashville 37220, with Brother Tom Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Born and reared in Robertson County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Thorpe, Sr. and Iva Mae Roark Thorpe. She attended Robertson County schools and was a graduate of Springfield High School and Falls Business College in Nashville. Mrs. Marshall was a long-time, faithful member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ. She was married December 1, 1955 to James Otis Marshall. Their fifty-six year marriage ended with his death June 6, 2011. Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Marshall England Pearl of Nashville; sons, Ronald Bryan England of Johnson City and Dr. James (Andrea) Marshall of Columbia; sister, Betty Sue (Bobby) Hendley of Cross Plains; brother, Joseph Thorpe, Jr. of Franklin, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jaclyn Marshall, Christy Marshall, Lorrie (Jeff) Turner, Cindi Whitman, Ron England, and Rhonda (Heath) Higgins; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Serving as active pallbearers are Dr. Tim Gordon, Bobby Hendley, Chris Holland, Marshall Holland, Dean Turner, Jeff Turner, Mike Hendley, and Charlie Brinkley. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
